Landlords -Case study

Rough value of work completed: £19,000
Potential yearly savings: £1445

Cost to Landlord: £0

We carried out installations to this ground- floor flat in Leicester. These installations made huge improvements to the property which in turn added value to the property. All of the work we completed came with zero costs to the landlord. Landlords may be able to access landlord grants to get your heating and insulation replaced and up to 100% fully funded. Landlords will be fined up to £30,000 if they fail to get the EPC of their property up to a C rating by 2028.

Environmental Benefits:

  • This property produces an estimation of 8.4 tonnes of C02 per year. The installations that were recommended for us to install reduced this amount to 4.6 tonnes of C02 emissions per year.
  • Fuel poverty is caused when a household cannot afford to heat their property to an adequate temperature. Installing insulation is a way to tackle this as the property becomes more energy efficient. This means that less heat escapes the building through the roof, walls, floors etc. This in turn means that less energy is needed to heat the property as it will stay warm for longer.
  • Before any of the installations, the property has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of an F. However, it has the potential to be rated with an EPC of a C after the measures have been installed. This means that the property is more energy efficient and better for the planet as less energy is required to keep the property warm.
  • Replacing the old Solid Wall Insulation means that these ground- floor flats have the potential to save 4,319 kWh of energy per year.
